Resistance Band Full Body Workout

Objectives

  • Motor: Students will be able to perform a squat for 10 repetition nonstop within the instructor line of sight during activity 2 squat portion for a 45 second round.
  • Cognitive: Students will be able to identify(B) which exercises correspond to a certain body part with verbal and visual cues 2 out of 3 times at the end of class.
  • Affective: Students will give another student a high five with a verbal prompt at the end of the class.
  • Skill Focus: Muscular strength and endurance, lifetime skill.

Activity Description

  • Instructor will be up front in class demonstrating various types of resistance band training exercises. Instructor will demonstrate each exercise, and as soon as the instructor finishes explaining and demonstrating, the student will perform the exercise. Instructor will inform students that they will do as many repetitions as they can within 45 seconds. While students are performing exercises, instructors will be walking around monitoring students' form and giving out cues. As soon as time is up the instructor will blow a whistle cuing students to stop and pay attention up front. Once Instructor has all student’s attention, the instructor will then proceed to the next exercise.
