Motor: Students will be able to successfully hit a spike ball at least 5 times during the activity when verbally prompted by the instructor in ¾ trials.
Cognitive: Students will recall at least 3 cues mentioned in class during activity for striking a spike ball when verbally prompted during the reflection portion of the activity.
Affective: Students will give another student a high five with verbal prompt at the end of the class.
Students will continue to be in a group of 4 and work with the partner across from them. The object is to make different types of bounces for the partner to catch. Each level of play introduces a different type of bounce. This will teach the students how the ball will react to and rebound off of the net.
There will be 2 sets of partners per net. Alternate bounces with the other pair at your net.
Students will complete 10 successful bounces at each level. Begin at level 1.
Level 1: Basic Bounces – bounce the ball back and forth directly to the partner.
Level 2: High Bounce – use enough force and the correct trajectory to bounce the ball high off of the net.
Level 3: Low Bounce – change the trajectory so that the bounce comes low off of the net.
Level 4: Drop Bounce – limit the force and modify the trajectory so that the ball bounces low and drops to the floor close to the net.
