Objectives
Motor: Students will be able to successfully perform cabers throw in Caber Toss towards a distance of 5 feet in ¾ trials during the caber toss activity when verbally prompted by the instructor.
Cognitive: Students will be able to comprehend the cultural setting of Caber Toss in the United Kingdom, its timespan history and origin as one of the traditional Scottish games during a class discussion during the reflection portion of class when verbally prompted.
Affective: Students will give a high five to another student when they successfully perform a caber toss.

Activity Description
Talk about some background on Caber Toss, explaining the cultural importance it possesses in the United Kingdom and giving details on how much it is tied to Scottish traditions.
Show the basic techniques of Caber Toss, especially to the proper grip, stance, and controlled tosses of modified, lightweight cabers. Show how necessary precision and coordination are for successful tosses.
The modified cabers can be used in the students to perform caber Toss techniques. They may employ simple tosses and then improve gradually their complexity through various drills that indirectly help challenge the object control skills of the students as well.
Stand with your legs more than shoulder width apart.
Bend over with the caber pressed firmly against your shoulder.
Squeeze your palms against the base of the caber.
Pick the caber up, keeping it high and against your neck and shoulder.
Start your run, and remember that the heavier the caber is, the faster you will have to run.
Make your run, give a small jump, and throw strong up through your chin.
Organize a Caber Toss challenge amongst the students whereby they will demonstrate their skills through a friendly trial. Encourage them to imagine when formulating styles for the toss and still being able to control it in terms of accuracy when measuring.
